Windrush is a Sydney metal fabrication business and a job-management software platform, run side by side from a workshop in Brookvale. Same shop. Same standards.
Jack Praxis founds Windrush as a Sydney welding and fabrication business, working out of the Northern Beaches. Mostly residential and structural work in those early years — staircases, balustrades, pergolas, the occasional council job.
Bigger structural projects, on-site infrastructure work, heritage restoration. The team grows. The job-management software the team uses, less so — most of it doesn't understand structural steel. A 200UB29.8 isn't the same as a 200UB25, but to most trade software it's just a line of text.
Frustrated with off-the-shelf options, Jack starts building Windrush BOS — a job-management platform with a real steel-section database, KISS file parsing for Tekla exports, AS/NZS compliance, and an understanding of how a metal shop actually runs.
The workshop's work has shifted toward stainless and architectural over time — where the drawings matter as much as the welds. BOS stays in-house first, opens up to a small group of metal shops next. Two arms of the same shop: software designed by welders, fabrication run by people who care about the data.
